For Tour Operators & DMCs

Ground operator services for the Wet Tropics.

We work with international tour operators, inbound DMCs, and specialist birding companies as a Cairns-based ground operator. Net rates, full compliance, and 20+ years of Wet Tropics field experience.

What we offer trade partners

Capacity & capability

Named guides on every expedition

Maximum five guests per expedition. Clayton (Lead Guide) on every multi-day departure; Les (Naturalist Guide) joins select expeditions when his schedule allows, bringing botanical and ecological depth alongside Clayton's birding focus. Two specialists in the field rather than one - meaningfully smaller groups than industry standard.

Cairns Airport pickup as standard

Operational base in Kuranda, 25 minutes from Cairns Airport. Direct airport collection for arriving clients - no transfer leg needed.

Premium vehicle and equipment

Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy 2026 - top-of-range luxury 4WD - with custom-fitted touring trailer. Air-conditioned, premium leather seating for up to five guests plus two guides, full safety and recovery equipment.

Field equipment

Swarovski spotting scopes carried on every tour for shared viewing of distant or canopy species. Thermal imaging for cassowary, owls, and nocturnal mammals. UHF comms for safety on remote sites.

Local intelligence network

Active members of BirdLife Northern Queensland. Weekly eBird checklists across Mt Lewis, Atherton Tablelands, Daintree, and the Cairns coast. Current-conditions intelligence on every site we work.

Full compliance

Wet Tropics commercial permit, Queensland Parks commercial permit, comprehensive public liability cover, Cairns Tourism Award Finalist, Queensland Government tourism funding recipient. Certified copies available to verified trade contacts on request.

Named guides and support team

People on the ground

Clayton in the field on every multi-day expedition, with Les joining select departures when his schedule allows. Dedicated operations support behind every trip - the same people who answer your email are the ones who meet your clients at the airport.

Clayton

Lead Guide

20+ years guiding the Wet Tropics rainforest, tablelands, and coast. Prior work as a Cairns-area guide for Field Guides Inc. Active member of BirdLife Northern Queensland. Specialist in Wet Tropics endemic species, with deep field knowledge of Mt Lewis, the Atherton Tablelands, and the Daintree.

Les

Naturalist Guide
This forest has been feeding and healing people for thousands of years. Most visitors walk straight past the evidence.

Decades living in Kuranda. Background in botany and science education, recognised with the Peter Doherty Award for Outstanding STEM Support. Specialises in bush foods, ethnobotany, and traditional plant knowledge - shaped by years of learning from Indigenous elders in remote northern Australia. Les is available for select multi-day expeditions, particularly valuable for mixed-interest groups and clients seeking botanical and ethnobotanical depth alongside birding.
